About Us
BME Instructional Lab
Our state-of-the-art USF Medical Engineering teaching laboratory facility is located on the 7th floor of Interdisciplinary Sciences Building (ISA 7032).
The layout of this BME instructional lab includes two bays; a dry lab and a BSL-2 wet lab for teaching basic methods in cellular and molecular biology and engineering. The dry lab supports bioinstrumentation, physiological measurements and data acquisition systems for several core courses.
While the wet lab is used to introduce students to fundamental tissue culture and regenerative medicine laboratory techniques. This lab is equipped with relevant biological equipment such as Class II Biosafety Cabinets, inverted microscope, Sterile-Cycle CO2 incubators, a cryotank, refrigerator and freezers (-20 C & -80 C).

In the dry lab, there are 32 computer workstations with a projector that enables extension and interaction with all the student computer stations. This Lab is equipped with engineering software, a complete instrumentation hardware setup (see list below) for each station, and a workspace for capstone design projects.
