Who should request the dual enrollment articulation agreement (DEAA)?
- The public school district leadership (not the counselor)
- Head of the Independent charter school
- Head of private school, or homeschool/PEP parent
Request an Articulation Agreement for Dual Enrollment
Students and Parents: Ask your school district, charter or private school to verify they have a DEAA with USF. Articulation Agreements are requested and signed by the following signing authorities only: Public School Board Officials for that public school district; Homeschool or PEP parent/administrator; or Private / Charter School administrator.
When can students participate?
Students are ELIGIBLE to participate in dual enrollment once their district leadership/ charter school/ private school / homeschool or PEP parent administrator has requested & signed an articulation agreement and the student has met the GPA and testing requirements.
Public Schools are covered by district leadership. As the Homeschool or PEP administrator, you must send a copy of the signed letter from your local superintendent (the district you registered in) stating that your homeschooling took place in their district and is in compliance with state law ane email document to dualenrollment@usf.edu
When can students take courses?
Qualifying (GPA & Test scores) students are ELIGIBLE to take classes once they complete their application processes, and their counselor submits course approval FORM 2. Deadlines for Spring are November 15th, and for Fall are June 15th. See table below.
REQUIREMENTS for STUDENTS
To be considered for dual enrollment at USF, students must be enrolled in a Florida public or nonpublic secondary school or in a homeschool (if student attends FLVS, only FLVS "Flex" [part-time] student is elgible), and meet or exceed the following academic qualifications: Both GPA and TESTING must be fulfilled.
- Minimum 3.5 high school GPA (Homeschooled Students Exempt from GPA but must send high school or college course transcripts). Homeschool/PEP/Private schools must send High School transcript to dualenrollment@usf.edu.
- Minimum scores on ONE of the following tests: Student can pass one of the disciplines to attend. Students can only take courses within the discipline which they pass. Private, Homeschool and PEP student's test scores must be sent to dualenrollment@usf.edu once the apply.
- TESTING REQUIREMENTS:
- If math scores meet requirements, students can take math/natural sciences.
- If reading AND writing meet requirements, students can take communication, social science, English, and humanities level courses.
Accepted tests for Admission to Dual Enrollment:
- SAT: 560 Critical Reading / 530 Math Request on test application for the testing company to send scores to USF using school code 5828. Unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu
- ACT: 21 Reading / 21 Mathematics Request on test application for the testing company to send scores to USF using school code 0761. Unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu.
- PERT: 106 Reading AND 103 Writing,114 Math to take natural sciences, and 123 Math to take MAC 1105 or higher; email unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu (PERT is offered at State Colleges; ask your high school counselor). Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF.
- PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 Regular: Reading (24), Writing/Language (25), Mathematics (24) Digital: Reading and Writing (490), Math (480) Please login to College Board to see your scores- Student Score Reports with the username and password (if you did not create a username and password you can create one). Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Attach the PDF in the email and send to your counselor or if homeschool send to dualenrollment@usf.edu
- CPT (Accuplacer): 256 Reading AND 253 Writing /and/or 250 AAF (Advanced Algebraic Function) OR 261 QSA (Qualitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics) (For USF TAMPA testing center: Students must apply as Non-Degree Student. Bring U# and Photo I.D. day of testing. sign in with username and password (if you did need to create username and password you can). Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Attach PDF to an email and send to your counselor or if homeschool send to dualenrollment@usf.edu) MUST have USF U number for score look up.
- CLT (Classic Learning Test): 38 Verbal + Writing (V+W) / 16 Quantitative (Q math) Minimum Total Score 54 Please go to their website for information. Student name must be seen on the test scores: Save the test scores as a PDF. Send unofficial copy to dualenrollment@usf.edu
REMOTE TESTING for Accuplacer:
- Email USF testing center, but you must apply first as dual enrollment non-degree student, activate your NET ID, get your USF U #, and email the testing center at uc-testing@usf.edu with the following information: Full Name, USF U Number, Date of Birth, Email, Tel.# AND dual enrollment status. The days of operation are Mon., Thurs., Fri., & Sat.
REQUIREMENTS for COUNSELORS
OVERVIEW for STUDENTS: Meet requirements; Apply; Activate NET ID 3 days after applying (this sets up their USF email); fill out FORM 1 if new or each Fall; meet with counselor to pick classes. If you have missed 3 semesters, you must reapply.
