Celebrating Academic Excellence: Undergraduate Studies Recognizes Outstanding Student Scholars
The Office of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) proudly celebrated students who have achieved distinction through academic excellence, leadership, and service during the Fall 2025 Academic Celebrations and the induction ceremonies for three student honor societies.

This fall, 175 students earned recognition on the UGS Dean’s List of Scholars, honoring the top ten percent of full-time students with the highest grade point averages. Honorees represent programs across UGS, including the Bachelor of General Studies, Bachelor of Science in Applied Science, ROTC, Student Support Services, and New Bulls Scholars. The Dean’s List distinction underscores the dedication, persistence, and success of students pursuing diverse academic and personal goals.

Among the semester’s highlights, Tau Sigma National Honor Society welcomed 171 new members during its fall induction ceremony held on September 18. Tau Sigma recognizes high-achieving transfer students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher during their first semester at USF. The society fosters community and belonging among transfer students as they begin their academic journey at USF. UGS supports Tau Sigma members through close partnerships with academic colleges and advisors, ensuring a seamless transition and connection to campus resources through proactive outreach and student support initiatives.

Also recognized this fall, the Office of Student-Athlete Academic Services recently inducted 66 student-athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society, representing 17 of USF’s 19 athletic teams. Membership is reserved for juniors and seniors who maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA and have earned a varsity letter in their sport. The Sigma Chapter’s inaugural class exemplifies academic excellence, athletic commitment, leadership, and service—qualities that reflect the strength and determination of USF student-athletes.
The university will also celebrate the Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society with its inaugural induction ceremony on November 8, coinciding with National First-Generation College Celebration Day. Fifty-two students and three staff co-advisors representing all three USF campuses will be inducted. Tri-Alpha recognizes first-generation students who have completed at least 30 credits and earned a 3.2 GPA or higher, while fostering leadership, mentorship, and lifelong engagement opportunities for first-generation scholars and advocates.
Together, these recognitions highlight USF’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and the Office of Undergraduate Studies’ mission to empower every student to succeed and thrive.
