At GNSI, I lead the Military and Society area of focus, researching primarily the
recruiting crisis and mobilization potential of the US Military, their challenges
and potential solutions. Additionally, I study in particular the contribution of non-citizens
to the US military and aspects of military industry and procurement.
My background is in military history (B.A. University of Milan, 2014; M.A. University
of Southern Mississippi, 2017; Ph.D. The Ohio State University, 2023), and therefore
my research in current issues is always made in historical perspective. My dissertation,
titled 鈥淚talian Yanks: World War II and the Integration of Italian-American Service
Members into Mainstream American Society鈥 analyzed how military service during World
War II allowed Italia-Americans to integrate in American mainstream society and is
upcoming as a book.
